WHY JOIN

At the Bullsbrook and Districts RSL Sub-Branch, we welcome current and former serving members of Defence, first responders, and their families. The League is a charitable organisation dedicated to connecting people bound by service and championing veterans’ issues in Australia; by joining, you will become a member of Australia’s largest ex-service organisation.  

Becoming a member of the Returned & Services League of Australia is a way to support others in the veteran community and get involved in important commemorative events like Anzac Day and Remembrance.

SERVICE MEMBERSHIP

Join as a service member of RSL WA. Complete the online application (recommended). This takes about 2 minutes!

‍Eligibility

Any Veteran who was a member of the Armed Forces of:  

 Any country presently or formerly a member of the Commonwealth of Nations.

Any country or place presently or formerly a Crown Colony of the United Kingdom.

The United States of America.

$40 per year

*First year free for current serving Defence personnel.

AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP

Family of service members join as affiliate members. Affiliate membership is also open to first responders and emergency                    services.‍ To become an affiliate member, download and complete the PDF affiliate member application form and email this to          your nominated RSL Sub-Branch.

‍Eligibility

The eligible persons who may be admitted as Affiliates are those who do not qualify for Service Membership, but comply with              the following:

• 18 years of age or older.
• A person who is a relative of a League Member or a defacto partner of a League Member, whether that League Member is living or has since died.
• A person who is, or has been, a member for at least six (6) months of one of the following:
• State or Federal Police Force.
• An Ambulance Service or Brigade.
• A Fire Brigade or Fire Authority
• A State Emergency Service
• A Prison Officer
• Australian Border Force
• Cadets (Adult)
• The Medical Profession

SOCIAL MEMBERS OF SUB-BRANCHES

Persons not eligible to join the League may be admitted as Social Members at the Sub-Branch level (Rule 7.18 RSL WA Constitution).

Social Members may not hold an honorary office in any Sub-Branch, nor may they vote at any Sub-Branch meetings. However, they may be invited to speak at Sub-Branch meetings on matters of a purely social (entertainment) nature.  Social Members are required to comply with the Constitution and By-Laws of RSL WA and are subject to the obligations and sanctions in the Code of Conduct.

Social Membership is for those members of our wider community who would like to be part of our RSL Sub-branch on a social level.  Social Membership provides some of the benefits as Service and Affiliates members, but the right to vote on RSL matters does not apply. You may, however, have the same access to our Sub-branch facilities as all members.

As a Social Member, you will be expected to make yourself familiar with the RSLWA Constitution Rules, By-Laws and Code of Conduct, as well as the Bullsbrook RSL Constitution, By-Laws and Code of Conduct, as do all current members.

Social members are encouraged to become involved in all our activities throughout the year, including ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day.

HOW TO APPLY

An application form is available on request and should be filled out, signed and handed in to the Bar Manager. Your application will be considered for approval at the next Sub-branch meeting (Last Tuesday of each month).  Once your application has been approved, you will be advised, and you will then be able to pay your annual membership fee at the bar.  Until your application is approved, you may continue to enjoy access to the club facilities, but you will need to sign in on each visit. $40 per year
